Will ChatGPT struggle to compete with Google. Which way do you perceive it?

They both do completely different things. I won't use ChatGPT as a study buddy, and I won't ask Google to write me a complex dockerfile. Frankly, either service compliments the other.

If OpenAI goes the pay to play route I bet it will be the better product or better said not tainted by advertisements.
