I’m with the HOA on this. He knew the rules.
did you see the video? I see an SUV and minivan parked in various places. Why can't he have a rivian? The HOA needs send out letters to everyone.
The rule cited in the HOA letter doesn't ban SUVs or minivans. It does explicitly ban trucks.
and pickup trucks are considered as vehicles like SUVs and minivans or even full size vans. Go look it up. This HOA is going to lose in court.
It's amazing to me that an EV is causing a problem here. I think the intent of the HOA rule a quarter century ago might have been to prevent someone from leaving a work truck overnight on their driveway. But no one back then could have imagined a $100,000 pickup.

I've seen two Rivian's locally in the past month and I think they're beautiful. But for me personally they're not worth the price of two F-150 Lightnings however.

"We don't have room in our garage for the truck".

It's apparently too much trouble for this guy to clean up his garage. In the community he bought into, that's where you park your truck. If he didn't like it, he could have bought elsewhere.

Some houses the garage literally won’t fit a truck like that, even if the garage is empty.
Garage isn't necessarily a car storage device. Mine is a gym and a workshop.
I don't think it can physically clear the top of the garage door, Rivian is tall and the garage is not.
Nice to see an HOA rule created to try to keep working people out of neighborhoods used against a $150k Rivian,
This is why I exclude HOA from all property searches
So do all the other people with SUVs, minivans, and trucks also have to get rid of their vehicles? I would sue them for attacking me.
