Ask HN: Why is Prime Video so bad at keeping audio/video in sync?

It’s kind of surreal how bad Amazon is at streaming their own content over their own network onto their own hardware.

I’ve tried watching the newest season of Jack Ryan and the A/V sync is completely out of whack. I even tried watching a pirated copy and that too was out of sync in the same exact way. It’s genuinely funny and frustrating.

Just to check. Since the error came from two different video sources in the exact same way. Is it an issue instead with your audio setup?

Yep episode 2 of season 3 is wildly out of sync.

So after trying REALLY HARD to get the audio in sync on the firestick, I played in the prime video android app and cast to Chromecast and the audio is now in sync.
