Ask HN: How will AI improve in the next 5 years?

So, we have pretty good generative AI now, and various companies are working towards AGI, but that currently looks like a pipedream. We also know that some models are starting to be able to create animations/videos.

Do any experts here know where the current state of research is, and what that could enable in the next 5 years?

I'm not asking what effect AI could have on society or industry, I'm wondering what new AI capabilities might show up to create those effects.
