Funny take at the end. All this grand talk might be the pitch to get more suckers in the door of the perpetual Ponzi scheme. I’m not so cynical. I suspect they mean well. But maybe they suffer from the trap that successful men fall into: intelligence leads to success, leads to arrogance, leads to error.

This is most notable when a wealthy, successful man is making obvious mistakes and refusing to admit them, surrounding himself with sycophants and shielding himself from criticism.

Perhaps you can think of an example of that happening now. I suspect the only thing to be done is to try to step outside the blast radius.

I’m another one of the Silicon Valley optimists. I think the next decade will bring immense innovation and I expect that the Bay Area will be at the forefront of whatever the future of tech brings. This comes from someone who is admittedly very much biased.
