First time post, small-town hacker; my neighbor (unidentified) is emitting an odd, 42dB at-my-door frequency that I've identified as 1451 hz. It's been ongoing for about a week, and I'm (hopefully) of sound enough mind to have some certainty that the tone is generated by design rather than as a waste product. I ran around with a dB meter and it could only really be coming from a condo near my own, upstairs in a townhouse-style home. The man who lives in this home wears a nice suit and doesn't avoid me or act friendly in any overt fashion, which is more suspicious than actually being suspicious by far. The only associations I find when searching the frequency (1451hz) are something to do with soothing tennitus; why would this neighbor be blasting (I would estimate 80db at the source, but I wonder whether it's directed, as I would find such noise annoying personally) this set tone over day and night. I have confirmation of the existence of the tone and I guess I just don't know what steps I should take if any? It's not horribly bothersome.
