Suicide influenced by social media is an urgent problem and I'm happy that platforms are taking steps to address it. That said, there needs to be significantly more fault laid at the feet of parents who let their kids scroll apps all day. That is child neglect and it causes suicides. Facebook didn't make those parents neglectful they did it all on their own.
Parents can exercise a great deal of control over their childs' lives, but they are not smarter than teams of Research Psychologists. Teams who go too far in using manipulative UI/UX patterns to hook people on Attention that social media provides.
You make a very good point with regards to powerful teams of Psychologists at big tech. They're near impossible to defeat. Even I as a software engineer knowing full well that I'm being manipulated by some ui dark patterns and algorithmic timelines and therefore sometimes struggle to snap out of the endless scrolling. If I as a full-grown adult have a hard time escaping, I don't think a 10 year old can do much to free themselves from the evil social media sites.
We are living in confusing times

Canada funded this assisted suicide 'activity book' for children https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/canada-funded-this-assi...

A family is visiting the grandmother before her medically assisted death due to extreme chronic pain. Should the children be explained to what’s going on before they say goodbye? If so, is a book made for children possibly a helpful way to approach this topic?

The “kids can’t learn about X” arguments never seem fully thought out to me, more like reactions to triggering words. Sex ed, gay people, euthanasia, etc.

Did the gov founded a book talking about only death? This looks more like advertisement

You can barely explain death to a child, but you're going to explain the details of assisted death, maybe how the state thought a stair lift for grandmother was too expensive so they suggested assisted death instead

Disabled Canadian Army veteran Paralympian blasts government for offering to EUTHANIZE her when she complained about how long it was taking to install stairlift at her home https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11497589/Paraplegic...

Restored? It was never down.
