The ethical dilemmas of renaming scientific principles that honour fallen idols (physicsworld.com)

I've become loathe to name anything after specific people because I don't really believe in the premise anymore. Maybe at one time in the past it made sense but I've grown deeply skeptical of the "great person" model of progress.

To me all these sorts of dilemmas flow from a flawed premise to begin with.
