Maybe we should also set windfall taxes to wind and solar. At least for times where the price is above their production costs.

That's akin to setting a "sin tax" on kale because the current setup is so unfair to tobacco and they're both plants.

No please don’t sin tax kale. Cant have a government profit when its subject consume kale. Think of the incentives this creates.

They are excessively profiting for the current very high electricity prices. This is undeserved and should be used to support the price at other times.

Oil generally isn’t used to generate electricity because it’s not cost effective.

The European winter started early in some parts, and electricity hasn't been as available as expected. Lots of people have turned off their electric heaters and heat with fuel oil in order to reduce costs. Several older plants have also been firee up to cover for off-line nuclear reactors and gas turbines.

Thanks government. Drive prices higher by meddling in the market therefore making people pay more sales tax then tax them some more but do it indirectly by stealing it through energy companies. What a fucking scam!
