How does the calculator percent key work? (2008) (devblogs.microsoft.com)

I never really could figure that out, and I don’t think I would have.

For 5 percent it’s multiply by 1.05, it seemed broken but I don’t think I ever thought to find out how people expect to use it.

It does feel a bit icky though.
