Ask HN: Low-fuss app to virtually drive around a city with street view

Is there a service, free or paid, that lets you wander around google street view without constantly clicking? I see there are some oss options that need to be setup and configured and will download a movie of specific route, but what I’m really looking for is something real-time and more flexible. Ideally you could “drive” around at whatever speed and turn at whatever intersection you want. Does something like this exist?

To add some additional context. I'm scoping out places for us to live next and real estate. There's a lot on the line here. I'd gladly pay $100+ per month for a top notch tool that let me quickly explore neighborhoods as a first line of filtering.

You can try your luck with a YouTube search (tour...). I doubt this will work outside touristic locations.

Second link I toyed with. First link is to a very old project. Clicked on the "demo" link and went to a extremely NSFW site :(

Regardless, looking for a friendly UI experience for this. Not a gamer but at this point I'm wondering if I could find videogames with realistic enough urban spaces to cover most of the cities I'm looking at.
