This story reeks. It’s extremely difficult to believe that there was “intense legal wrangling” as the article claims.

Odds are that SBFs lawyers offered to waive extradition in exchange for the government not opposing bail, and the government immediately agreed. Why would there have been any wrangling?

I agree. It’s just a rehash of things already known and reported on with absolutely zero additional information or even an attempt at research.

This is probably a better example of a “win-win” compromise than intense legal wrangling.

The NYT seems to care more about Wordle than actual reporting.

Although he's a despicable person this is completely legal and I would've done the same. Staying at your parents house is two orders of a magnitude more comfortable than being in jail.

So no, this isn't a lapse of justice. just good negotiating or good lawyers.

Nothing suggests that it's even either of those, this is just an entirely predictable outcome.

For anyone complaining about the injustice of this, I would remind you that, while I don’t like SBF either, he has not been found guilty yet.
He has lawyers and hasn't been found guilty on anything yet. Not really god tier negotiation imo.
