I understand that HN has title length limits, but removing "police say" from the title changes something from an accusation to a statement of fact. Innocent until proven guilty and all that jazz.
If we cannot fit ", Police Say" then maybe change it to:
> Man Who Survived 250-Foot Cliff Plunge in Tesla [Accused] of Trying to Kill His Family
I've driven through the Devil's Slide area in a car, and that is one the most frightening stretches of two lane road I've ever traveled. Prior to the Tom Lantos tunnel, the drive to/from Pacifica on that stretch of road was just completely insane.
Lazy journalists are quick to report every.single.incident that involves a Tesla in any way. "Woman shot and killed by man who used Tesla FSD three weeks ago".
Yet I don't see any "Tesla saves wife and children from being murdered" stories in the headlines today...
It’s this kind of thing that causes some people to take Tesla’s side by default in discussions here soon after crashes. It’s not “Elon worship”, it’s Bayesian statistics…
Yesterday, there were people here blaming “Tesla brakes are too small”. Turns out that… wasn’t a factor.
