Most likely books by Dario Bressanini (https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dario_Bressanini).

He's a very kind person that calls himself "a friendly chemist in the neighbourhood" and likes to show how science (mostly chemistry) is present in everyday life.

Some of his books are: - the science of cleaning

- the science of pastry

- the science of vegetables

- the science of meat

- bread and lies (about lies and prejudices about what we eat)

Also: "The world of bees and honey" (https://www.amazon.it/mondo-delle-api-del-miele/dp/888499556...) by Slowfood Editore. It's about (you guessed it) honey and bees. It's very interesting.
