Non-issue because it's naturally zero friction to prove you are creating original art by posting works in progress.

It's so easy to prove originality that I'm more convinced the person is using AI.

Couldn't an AI generate pictures that look like work in progress?
Sure, but you can also record yourself working for example. A lot of people do it on twitch for example.
AI can't generate layers.

I've looked at the guys portfolio, his portfolio is filled with the same style, stable diffusion didn't exist back then.

Sure it can with some effort. One would need to work in reverse: start with the final work, then cut out the major subjects of the scene into layers, then use AI to infill where they had been and put that layer behind. Repeat.

He did offer to send the psd and process but the mod said that even if he did it wouldn't matter, because it looks so much like AI
I love the reply of that mod. It's... actually exactly what I was expecting from a reddit mod.
Unfortunately, he's right.

I'm not saying he's right as a rationale for a ban - that's subjective and depends on the goals of the subreddit.

But he's right in that if your genre is indistinguishable from what computers can produce, you're in trouble and you better get off your ass and do something about it.

It's a personal opinion that you, the mod and maybe even I can agree on but that doesn't matter. It's a personal opinion and when not asked, don't give it.

It's not our place to tell someone stop doing what you're doing because computers can do it better.

Let people do what they want and enjoy life.

Goes to show that the cat is out of the bag. This is like trying to ban the printing press from having books in the library.
