Why effective altruism is a dangerous philosophy (zeeshanaleem.substack.com)

It’s so obviously a BS philosophy that it collapsed in the most ironic way possible - with the biggest BS scam of our generation.

What we are looking at is extreme shorttermism. Kind of ironic from a movement that has a subcommunity that calls itself longtermism.

These problems are why we are starting a new, rival theory and practice: robust altruism. We plan to

1) be less susceptible to hijacking

2) be less prone to harmful fanaticism

3) balance short- and long-term perspectives
