Ask HN: Do we still value Aaron Swartz in a modern psychiatric paradigm

2 points by mansoon ↗ HN
In the modern psychiatric paradigm, Aaron Swartz is easily dismissable as bipolar. As a Dasein whos internal reality we are not doomed to respect, as fellow Daseines--he is "other".

Do we owe anything to those that we believe to be right, under these other-labeling paradigms?

No sure why anyone with bipolar is "easily dismissed".

Regardless of his struggles, Aaron Swartz was a pioneer of digital (libre) freedom and he should be revered and missed much more than he is.

If he was still alive, the world would be a better place, I have no doubt about it.

Because his productivity, drive and ideas, are symptomatized manifestations of a disease instead of the dreams and character of a remarkable person.
