Beware of www.retune.so – “The Missing Front end to ChatGPT3”

It seems that I may have been scammed.

I asked if retune could extract data about symbols on a drawing, but it was not able to do so.

Instead, it offered to create a tool for me. In order to start with retune, I had to provide it with an OpenAI API key.

The conversation seemed too good to be true and the email address provided, which was example@example.com, raised suspicions.

But one strange thing was it said it might take a couple of days to finish my "project".

After the email address bounced, I was given another email address, multiple times, but it was redacted every time.

I checked my OpenAI API key and it had not been accessed.

I believe that the company is gathering API keys to exploit them in some way, nothing else makes any sense.

The website also lacked customer service links or an "about" page, making it impossible to get any assistance or clarification.

I have cancelled my API key and would advise others to be cautious, as it seems like a scam reminiscent of the early days of cryptocurrency where unscrupulous individuals take advantage of uncertainty and lack of knowledge.

Well everything looks fake nowadays but it seems they are at product hunt (not sure if means something tho). Anyway, I don't get all these "apps" on top of ChatGPT since it's always in high demand and I barely can get answer of one single prompt. What am I missing here?
Hey there, founder of re:tune here.

> The conversation seemed too good to be true

Can you share where you had this conversation, and the name/email of the person whom you talked to?

With the AI.

I have the transcript, if you email me I will send it to you.

Wait, by any chance, did you sign in to retune.so and talked to the example chatbot and asked it to help you with your project?

(we don't have any AI agent, the chat interface is for users to create their own chatbot)

You can email me the transcript at dj[at]retune[dot]so.
