Christmas trees are a late 19th Century German tradition.
I thought it had roots from palm fronds in egypt?
Ironically the origins probably stem from pre-Christian polytheistic (people using “pagan” here) practices anticipating the return of spring.
Caste system too. Apartheid on a scale which has forever condemned millions into a state which they'll never get out.
Ayurveda is a big scam
Americanized Ayurveda often is, but that ends up being the case for most of the initial attempts to use aspects of integrated systems from other cultures. This does not mean Ayurvedic practices, properly situated, do not have value.
Yoga is stretching. Ayurveda is pseudoscientific nonsense. Meditation exists in lots of religious traditions. Now let's talk about the cast system. Wasn't that a way for high status people to "other" anyone who wasn't them?
