Stage 7 load-shedding is coming for South Africa (mybroadband.co.za)

For context, South Africa is now under perpetual ‘Stage 6’ load shedding, meaning that 6000 MW of demand have to be cut to meet the output of an ever more constrained grid and failing power stations.

This is even though overall demand for electricity is lower than it was in 2008.
