Ask HN: Are payments and escrow features required?

Hi All,

I have an idea for a platform for buyers and sellers and planning to build it next weekend but the problem is i have no intention to handle payment, escrow and customer support since i find it to be a waste of time to spend on those before knowing idea addresses the a world problem or not.

How would buyers & sellers feel if i ask then to handle payments & escrow as they wish?.

Would it work? any startup examples?

The only chance this would work is if your platform is free to use. An example of this would be craigslist.

I've never seen a pay-to-use platform ask buyer and sellers to handle payment.
