They do ship, but you can clearly see they shouldn't. For example, the Twitter blue fiasco could've been avoided had they stopped to think instead of just ship it.
Nobody else but a libertarian boy's club member would get such deference for such a management disaster. Lost 40% of revenue in weeks. Lost $200 billion in personal wealth. Destroyed the Twitter and Tesla brand image. Dissipated a Jobs-like reality distortion field resulting in FSD looking like The Emperor's New Chauffeur.
It puts the ability of firms like A16z to invest in people like Adam Neumann in perspective.
But they seemed to have taken away the only reason I use twitter: to see the latest posts on something local/obscure.
For example, I can see smoke outside of my window. I find the best way to see what is happening used to be to search twitter for "fire $CITY" and sort posts by 'Latest'.
Or maybe a service I use isn't responding. I often can see if other people are having the same issues by searching 'github webhooks' long before github will show any sort of status error on their status page.
But Latest is gone, which means I only get the Top posts from months ago from someone who has 1000s of followers, which I don't care about at all.
For a few days it was only there if you logged in. I'm with you that's the only way I use Twitter, made an account specifically to be able to search with latest, but looks like it's back to always there now.

I use this a lot too for similar reasons to you.
Edit: I don’t know if this is different behaviour from before but the “Latest” tab didn’t appear until I performed a search.
