Tell HN: Exercism needs donations to survive 2023

As a regular user of exercism.io, I am a little worried to see this banner at the top of their homepage which says: "Exercism needs donations to survive 2023. Please support us if you can!". Their donations page says they have 965 donors and they have recieved donations of $32,837.10 since September 2021. I think they could use more help, especially from corporations that have some budget to support such initiatives.

I am worried about the future of this very useful resource for beginners, and I hope they get enough funding to continue the great work they are doing.

Full disclosure: I am not involved with exercism.io in any way except for being a regular user. Wanted to share this only because it saddens me to imagine a future in which excersim.io no longer exists.

That is concerning. I have recommended Exercism to a few different friends/family that took up an interesting in learning how to code. I'll toss some money their way, they provide an excellent service.

I thought Exercism was good until I noticed they've completely stopped accepting issues or PRs, force-closing them all.

Such a great site and service, but the supporter badge states only 988 members have donated, 0.13%

I think it would help a lot if any of the tech influencer is asked to do a charity run for exercism. There are lot of tech youtubers which can provide a much needed exposure and can bring in a lot of donation.
