Ask HN: How long until ChatGPT is given a robot arm?
ChatGPT is great at generating code. It seems like we are close to a moment where an AI is given a limb to learn how to use by its own ‘volition’. Any predictions as to when this happens? May we finally have walking humanoids robots in our lifetime?

I think people are already getting ideas [1] and I am looking forward to everything that follows. From a safe distance
There are already walking robots but they are very expensive prototypes and look nothing like humans. [2] Given how many things ChatGPT confidently gets wrong I am not sure how that would play out in a robot. I think the first focus should be on a baseline set of safety rules and safety mechanisms.

Imagine you could talk to them, and work together? That would be dope.
I already find ChatGPT immensely useful for brainstorming and making marketing materials.
Imagine if you could run a wood shop with your robot friends and can talk and work together serving your customers? Or in a warehouse, etc.
Sometimes I wish I had a twin, this would be the next best thing.
