Don't make me laugh dude. I've lived in Argentina for a decade (European here) and all Latinoamerica is broken by their society, their lack of self analysis, the populism and the short-terminism.

It's time to stop the old speech of "that far away evil empire destroyed us". It doesn't work anymore dude. Grow up.

You mean the seemingly incurable socialist ambition to turn South America into a shittier version of the Soviet Union? Poor despite vast amounts of land and natural resources, undeveloped, unindustrialized, an economy crushed by bureaucracy and taxes and corruption, worthless currency with near 100% inflation and with zero nukes to show for it.
