Tech Layoffs vs Chess.com vs New Year's Resolutions

I got the Chess.com "database is overloaded error message" when I went to login today. This is a new error for me, and I wonder whether is driven by the high number of layoffs or because many people decided to play more chess as part of their 2023 Resolutions?
