The real difference between cage free and not is that the higher end brands feed the chickens slightly better feed and you can taste that. But by the time you pay 6$ a dozen you also get all the cage free stuff thrown in that other consumers want. You can’t get premium feed factory caged eggs.
Excellent article on the "neuroses" of animal rights activists and how it affects our grocery bill at the checkout line ... HN needs a lot more of these.

Nature videos of animals eating other animals in the wild would also be welcome.

It's interesting how a lot of these same folks think that when it comes to human life, a seventy-year sentence in prison is more "humane" than the death penalty.
