The PRC is a very fragile dictatorship, approaching the levels of the Aztecs. (i.e. 400 guys with horses can win because everyone except the royal family and their bodyguards wants them to win).

TL:DR; The powerful can keep making more and more enemies and it doesn't matter right up until the minute it does.

It's already too late for the US to win a war against China. If they wanted to win, they needed to initiate it back around 2020.
