First It Came

First it came for the Professional Drivers

But I did not speak out because I was not a Professional Driver.

Also the last 10% was so difficult it is no threat for now to the drivers... but it will.

Then they came for the Journalists.

But I did not speak out because I was not a Journalist. Now we'll have 90% generated content and will be impossible to tell what is generated and what is not.

Then they came for the Educators.

But I did not speak out because I was not an Educator.

Then they came for the Artists.

But I did not speak out because I was not an artist.

Artists protested it and got generated art banned in some platforms, but that will not stop it.

Then they came for the lawyers.

But I did not speak out because I was not a lawyer.

Also, the lawyers sent cease and desist letters and bullied the authors to abandon their efforts or face prison charges.

But that will only slow its progress...

Now it's coming for the Software Engineers.

And I'm too terrified to Speak Out.

"Hey, maybe I can use it for starting 10 remote jobs", said software engineer.
'But but it's only coming for junior software engineers though. I did not speak because I am a (so-called) senior software engineer.' - majority of Hacker News readers.
