Creating a Social Audio App

Hey everyone, I wanted to hear your feedback on this side project I'm doing.

This social audio app would let you

- record yourself and post to the app

- record with others and then post it to app

- live conversation

- text-to-speech. If you're in an area where you can't speak or you just don't want to, you can type it out and it'll generate it into audio.

- "TLDL" (too long didn't listen). You'll get a summary of what the recording is about and it'll be shown as a preview, that way you know beforehand if you'd wanna listen or not.

Sounds like a fun project. A few thoughts: 1) I think you should focus on one use-case, at least from the outset. For example, pick whether you want to support live or uploading pre-recorded. The reason I say this is because a) you want to focus as much as possible just for the purpose of making good progress and b) the other features you'd add to your roadmap (if you get to the point) will be very different if you're supporting the live discussion vs hosting already-recorded discussions 2) I'm not sure about the text-to-speech idea. In my mind, speech is interesting or useful as a medium because it's personal — you're beating the person's voice. Once you're not hearing their voice, it's not clear why text isn't better. In some cases, text is more concise and dense so converting it to audio just so it matches when people are recording their actual voice...not sure that makes a whole lot of sense. 3) Lastly, I'd just mention to look at other apps in this space, such as CallIn (social podcasting app, https://www.callin.com/)
