Ask HN: Could I unsubscribe from all email subscription vendors?

I've toyed with unroll.me, and gmail's built in unsubscribe me feature but i'm losing this war.

I'm wondering if it's possible for me to hit a hard rest on everything my email account is subscribed to.

would it be conceivable ask providers like sendgrid, mailchimp, political party email vendors to unsubscribe me from every list thats under their house?

No, you’d still get hit by legit transactional emails and non-canspam compliant (aka shady) spammers.

The only solution is to create a new email address and gradually rehome all your accounts.

I was facing the same problem. And recently I finally made the decision to migrate from gmail to Fastmail and use masked emails everywhere except a few trusted services. It’s not a trivial task and as of now the migration is still ongoing, but the result is amazing. Finally, no more triple-digit notification bubbles.
