[ 3.0 ms ] story [ 13.0 ms ] thread
Seems to me running a 'Super App' is not compatible with being a place where people talk about identity and politics be it left-wing or right-wing.

I think people want to know a payment provider is trusted, fair and neutral. The last thing I want is for people to decide not to do business with me because they don't like my payment provider. If you want to buy my stuff I want you to focus on the identity of liking my brand and what I sell and not feel excluded because of anything tangential to that.

I would like to know the whole story behind Facebook's giving up on its super-app ambitions. Facebook's friends-and-family model seems like a better fit, but I suspect that between regulators and legacy payment providers (who want most of all to keep getting the vigorish they get now) they could not create a compelling option.
