This legislation seems so absurd, I can't see how it will pass. I can't think of any reason why a school would need to know this history of a student's menstrual cycle for the purpose of participating in sports. Anyone happen to know how the legislation is being justified?

Two reasonable justifications are checking for steroids/PEDs and making sure no males participate in female sports. Just a guess though.

Better to demand deeply personal information on all women rather than let a trans woman secretly compete in high school athletics with an unfair advantage right?

God forbid we let someone play a sport with their peers.

They want biological women, not those who just identify as women.
The reason the school needs to know the history of a student’s menstrual cycle is because it improves DeSantis’s standing vs Trump in a Republican Presidential primary.
Why would the school need anything more than, if so concerned about a student’s health, a doctor’s note? “This girl is healthy and can participate in whatever.”
As the article says, this is about trans people. It's not about health.
