Not sure if you need to pasteurize, but this sounds like a breakdown in the sterile field for the manufacturing process more than anything else. That or a contaminated supply chain somewhere.
This has been said ad nauseam, but bacterial infections are going to become a huge concern.
Viruses are baddies because their treatment is largely more specific, often just treatment rather than cure, and they are more resilient. Broad spectrum antibiotics kept bactieral infections from being the same. Bacterial resistance is pushing bacterial infections into the same category.

As a prescription eye drop user for over a decade, this scares me.
Are they just companies I don't happen to know because I'm dumb, or anyone can just set up his lab to sell medicine on Amazon?
How is the supply chain monitored for drugs ?
