Ask HN: Has OpenAI followed Y Combinator startup advice?

In my view, OpenAI is at this point a roaring success. Interesting tech, significant adoption, serious investment and partnerships. Given Sam Altman is at the helm, I wondered if they (or anyone for that matter) would consider it a textbook example of following the advice that Ycombinator offers through the startup school and it's other programs. Do you think it has, or hasn't?
