Just what the title says. I've poked around and haven't been able to find any solutions. I find this behavior annoying and sleazy and thought maybe someone here might have found a solution?

Uninstall Zoom and use the web only one

Agreed. This way you have tighter control over permissions, which means preserving your privacy. Also you would be some saving storage space.

If it's the fullscreen trick zoom pulls on when someone shares screen, you can turn it off in option.

Somewhat off-topic: Is there a way to stop any application from stealing focus? I hate it when the Terminal app grabs the focus while I'm typing something.
