Ask HN: Has anyone gotten LAION-AI’s Open Assistant to work?

I tried using docker-composer but it always manages to get stuck at some point with seemingly no progress being made, does it just take a while to build or is the process broken in some way? I left it for a good hour and nothing really happened.

https://github.com/LAION-AI/Open-Assistant#readme appears to be the thing in question, and any plea for help that just says "at some point" without saying what "some" is does not help those to help you. They also appear to have just merged a huge commit that touched docker-compose, so leaving off what version of that file makes help even more elusive
