Tell HN: Paying through an Apple “app clip” is more expensive

I noticed that paying for parking through an app clip costs more.

Does Apple charge the merchant 30% fee for every transaction in an app clip?

You probably would get better answers if you mentioned the app, but I would guess not.

“3.1.3(e) Goods and Services Outside of the App: If your app enables people to purchase physical goods or services that will be consumed outside of the app, you must use purchase methods other than in-app purchase to collect those payments, such as Apple Pay or traditional credit card entry.”

So, I would think this app uses Apple Pay.

I also remember that apps can’t make in-app purchases more expensive than other methods. I can’t find that online, though, so even if I remember that correctly that rule may have been changed.
