govt is the monopoly of violence to preserve the status quo.
the status quo in american society is racist, classist, etc.
so all actions of govt is to the end of preserving it. from fbi undermining black politicians, to confusing and anxiety inducing tax code to middle class, to degrading and Kafkaesque immigration rules.
edit: oh, no consequences for anyone involved in the actions on the article btw. probably some promotions.
