Cannot open Atom on macOS

I can no longer open Atom (text editor) on macOS. I am receiving three prompts simultaneously whenever I attempt to:

1. "“Atom” will damage your computer. You should move it to the Trash." Options (Move to Trash, Cancel) *Report malware to Apple to protect other users

2. The application "Atom" can't be opened.

3. Atom quit unexpectedly

I understand the application has been deprecated a while ago so I figured the it must have something to do with how it was signed. But I have not updated it in who knows how long so I don't exactly care. Even if the keys to sign it have been revoked (which is what I have gathered through cursory web searches), for me to not be able to run the damn app on my own machine is pretty infuriating.

This is basically the last straw and I'll be installing Asahi later today. I don't need Apple playing nanny for me.

Well, key revocation wasn't specifically related to atom, due to github break-in.

Appreciate the link. I rolled back to version 1.60.0 and it's working now.

Still, not being able to run software I elected to install on my own computer is pretty unacceptable.
