Ask HN: Does Cordura fabric have PFAS in it?
I’m considering buying a waterproof backpack for my laptop and other expensive tech as I live in a perpetually rain-soaked location. I love a product that is advertised as made with “Cordura re/cor RN66 fabric”.
However I recently found out about the health dangers of close proximity to PFAS while researching non-stick cookware - and was disappointed to find out that “DWR coatings” are actually also made of PFAS related materials (also talked about on HN [1]).
I tried googling but figuring out whether the material I’ve mentioned above contains PFAs is beyond my expertise. Could anyone chime in?
