I would pay to read Bloomberg. But when I tried, I found that I only got access to a fraction of the articles.

People used to say that the public gets what we deserve for not being willing to pay for quality journalism.

But sometime in the last few years, I decided I would like to subscribe electronically to my local paper and maybe one or two national news sources.

And then I discovered they all treat paying customers as suckers who can be charged an unlimited number of times for made-up tiers.

So I give up.
