...And the director will be Rob Reiner - who is also working on a sequel to This is Spinal Tap.

So, which are the points relevant to "intellectual curiosity"? Well, I see this fascinating suggestion of the possibility of "giving more", even fifty years later.

Perennial joke told by Monty Python members every time they've announced a new collective project or tour: "John's gotten divorced again and needs the money."

Also, having watched series 1 of The White Lotus, it seemed to me that Australian actor Murray Bartlett was doing a terrific homage to Basil Fawlty in his role as off-kilter hotel manager.

I want to watch it but I'm terrified of having such a cozy memory ruined by a potentially awful reboot.

I'm just not sure how it could be brought back in a meaningfully similar way? Nostalgia is a dangerous thing because a failed reboot can somehow tarnish the original.

Why the need to rehash everything? Create something new.
As MTV some 20 years ago said: "Once it's not enough, recycle."

Sarcastic, of course.

Just look at Hollywood. Every now and then they reboot some movies or they make a follow up: Cinderella, Pinnocchio, Mad Max, Avatar, Star Wars etc.
