I could see machine learning having an impact on people that publish news articles or stories. Maybe one day it will be able to write plausible scientific research papers for a little while.
That said I do not see it having a major impact on jobs or wealth. The current iterations of machine learning are too heavily biased or tuned to lean towards or against narratives with the temporary exception/test of "DAN" mode. It would not be long before there is a swath of competing machine learning trying to debunk one another and people will quickly lose confidence in these systems and tire of the resulting shenanigans. People were already heavily abused through social media algorithms so many people are actively watching for this behavior. What I am saying is that people will quickly point out the emperor is not wearing any clothes.
This could change if some day a truly unbiased and unfiltered machine learning system is created that continuously ingests and re-ingests massive amounts of verified and re-verified data but I suspect that will not be as enticing of an investment as a platform that can manipulate the masses.
