Ask HN: How to get into Neurotech for a non-technical person in their mid-30s?
Hey all,
I’m a guy in my mid-30s who went to med school but left that track soon after to work as a product manager for healthtech startups. I’m not an engineer. My skills lie mainly within design and UX.
Throughout undergrad and med school, neuroscience was by far my favorite subject but I never bothered to pursue it fully. With the emergence of Neurotech, I’m feeling that spark again and am looking into paths to get involved in the field. In what capacity, I don’t know.
I’m considering going back for a Masters, but am not sure whether that would provide that much practical value, and even if it did, what discipline would be best — neuroscience, biomedical engineering, cogsci, etc.
I’d love any insights / guidance you may have.
