Ask HN: How to get into Neurotech/BCI?

8 points by notmindthegap ↗ HN
I’m a nontechnical healthtech PM with a design/UX focus and a med school background, looking for advice on how to get into the Neurotech/BCI field.

I’ve scoured job listings for the top companies in the space and none seen to be looking for people on the design/UX side.

I’m curious if getting a Masters in a neuro-related discipline (neuroscience, cogsci, biomedical engineering, etc) to give me a bit more scientific and technical know-how would be wise. Unsure about its practical value.

Open to any and all advice. Thanks.

Go here: https://openbci.com/ , gear up. Start hacking & have fun. If that goes as planned, you'll find your way - if not, perhaps it's not for you.
