Ask HN: What respirator can I send to people in Ohio?

Understandably, it is tough to figure out which respirator to get for which condition. Does anyone know how to choose?

You need the right chemical scrubing cartridge

Probably best for them to just leave. Proper use of respirators are tricky in a 24/7 use environment.

You need distance, Up-Wind from the scene of the accident. Respirators aren't magic, and don't protect your entire body from absorbing things in the air.

I’m surprised by the lack of coverage on this. Right now on many major US news source websites there is more discussion on UFOs than this disaster. I’m surprised President Biden as not addressed the nation. My concern is the spread of carcinogens through the air and water across state lines. No public guidance from 3 letter agencies designed to protect us.

I don’t think respirators are going to be enough, once it enters the water supply.
