> We are deprecating the current $99/month Standard plan on Hasura Cloud and introducing a new Professional plan with usage-based pricing starting at $1.50/hour.

The new $1.50/hour baseline Pro plan translates to >$1000/mo starting price. A >10x increase.

We have a ton of poorly-written hard-to-maintain frustrating handcraft & inconsistent microservices at current job. I've been lightly on-and-off trying to pitch Hasura as a potential escape route, that let's us just expose our postgres instances with a smart, fast, well-maintained middle-layer. I have a very hard time imagining pitching my company at this new price point. Would it save us money & time, after a fairly long/difficult migration? Yes. It'd be a great help, & eliminate the never ending suffering, after a great effort. But there doesn't feel like a sensible entrance ramp, at this price point.

And $1000 professional plan is just "for low-scale production APIs".

Hasura has amazing tech. It does so much out of the box, to eliminate so much dev work you'd probably do worse. And there's gotta be a ton of people who see & understand how much not-DIY-ing is amazing. It still feels neigh-impossible to propose to almost any org I've worked at that the value here is worth it, especially given how afraid so many are of lock in & potential further price increases (although Hasura has done well to not hurt existing customers in this move, at potentially great cost to themselves).
