Disappearing Outlook Verification Messages?

Has anyone else experienced account verification emails not arriving in an Outlook/Hotmail system? Not even in the spam folder? Signing up for a few accounts recently and the verification emails have disappeared completely. It seems like there's an uber strict filter on some sign-up tool somewhere.
