Ask HN: What is an example of a good product that people eventually don't want?

I'm really interested to know if you can think of a really great product that was made, but nobody wanted it.

Everything I remember is Quibi / https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quibi short video platform and Kite / https://www.kite.com co-pilot for developers, both of which build a good product but never gain traction.

Any more good examples, please?

You should probably change "need" to "want" in your title or "wanted" to "needed" in the body, because those are very different things.

I really like my homepods with Siri, I can give them commands while I do something else with both hands

Yes, simple verbal commands (turn on lights, play music) generally work OK.

Anything more sophisticated is an exercise in frustration.
